The Price-Pottenger Story

Here is a great summary of the story of Weston Price and Francis Pottenger, nutrition pioneers who warned us againsit the health-degenerating processed foods more than seventy years ago.  If only had we paid attention to their advise, out state of health would be a different story.  It is time we turn back the tides of ill health and learn from what they found to be a health promoting diet–local whole food based diet.

Demands for Raw Milk is Growing

A report in the New York Times showed that there are more and more people drinking raw milk in the US.  Inspite of its illegal status, people will go through hoops to try to get the stuff.  There are dire warnings by states public health department against the consumption of raw milk, but many people are ignoring the “advice.”

Raw milk is a wholesome food while pasteurized milk is not. It is that simple.  Like all natural food, raw milk can be contaminated, but the risk is minimal.  The benefit of raw milk far out weight the risks. Find out more about raw milk and enjoy it the way our ancestors did.

Drug Spending and Our Looming Fiscal Crisis

In two reports by CBS’s news magazine, 60 minutes, the health and fiscal crisis facing our country is becoming clearer than ever. The pharmaceutical lobby successful negotiated with the pass of the drug coverage law in 2003 for Medicare recipients.  The problem with this law is that it is all in favor of the drug makers.  The government can’t negotiate the price of drugs like The Veterans Administration had thus reducing the cost of drugs for veterans. Medicare has to pay whatever the price asked by the drug makers.  Other countries in the world are paying much lower cost for the same drugs.   It is the best scenario for the drug profiteers and the tax payers’ worse nightmare. We are spending too much on healthcare. The tremendous influence of the pharmaceutical industry has on our federal law makers is mind boggling.  Law makers usually retired to lucrative jobs working for the drug industry, showed in the first link to a report  by 60 Minutes.

We need to do something quickly to prevent a fiscal melt down. I think the best way to curb medical spending is learn to use natural remedies, wholesome diet, and exercise, and reduce exposure to chemicals. It is actually very easy to do. I have been living the natural way for twenty years.  My children grew up without using prescription medications.  They hardly ever get sick.  Yes, we can live without drugs.  There are natural solutions for almost all health problems that plague mankind. I am not exagerating.  How the heck we ever survive the millennia without manmade chemicals? Our ancestors used herbs and foods found in nature!

If we want to save our country from bankruptcy, we have to act now.  We can not only save our country but also save ourselves and our children’s future.  We have a chance to make a change in the government in the next election.  Our decision to vote can make a difference. Take responsiblity of our health by changing our diet, take supplements if needed, exercise, and take care of each other.

You have to scroll down the play list once you get to the CBS 60 minute site for the correct clips. It will not play this clip automatically. It will play whatever is the first on the play list. There are many interesting clips on this site. Isn’t the Internet great! There no reason for us not to know anything. Even my 13 year old make it a habit to look for information on the Internet.
